Goals for 2018

HELLO AND WELCOME BACK


I return to my blog and I see that I haven't posted in SEPTEMBER. And I am very disappointed in myself. For those of you who don't know, in July I had my beautiful baby girl. And although she is a wonderful and extremely chill baby, it's been hard to get stuff done. And sadly, my blog has fallen to the sidelines and I really want to change that. If you have followed me for a while, you will know I say this CONSTANTLY. And I always have good intentions of doing this better but I find I lose passion and inspiration and feel like I am limiting myself or forcing myself to stick to a certain mold. So I have some new goals that I am going to set myself and I want them to be realistic. So here they are. 

FINANCIAL STABILITY
I'm only 23, and it's safe to say that I've wasted a lot of money since my working life began. Because of this mistake from my wild years, I am now in the process of learning from my mistakes and getting myself into a stable and secure place for my finances. This is such a big and important task and I really wish that I had taken it seriously when I was younger, but luckily, I am still young and it's better to do it now than wait any longer. 


So if you're in a similar position, and you have the money, SAVE! OR pay off that credit card or that debt that you're working with. Because the longer you wait the worse it will become. We obviously all get into hard situations from time to time. We are all human and it's hard to be secure constantly, but instead of buying that take out or that bag or whatever it is you "want"; pay for what you NEED. Sounds so simple, but it's something that has truly changed  my outlook on money and I think it has been exactly what I needed to think about in order to save myself from this little hole that I am in. 


SCHEDULE, ROUTINE, ORGANIZATION
So the fact that I have a beautiful baby girl that is 6 months old. She is definitely time consuming, but we are also VERY lazy. We can sleep on and off until 11am some days, and it means that I don't get as much done in the day and it has caused some passions to fall behind. And that is my fault, not hers. I am at the stage now where we need to be on a better schedule, a better routine and being more organized. I will admit, I have already been more organized, I have taken the time to do the work and put in the effort to organize my life and be more aware of what I am doing and when. Luckily, we have responsibilities and activities that we do regularly and that has been such a huge change in my life and is helping me keep on top of my responsibilities and also forces me to leave the house and interact with people. 


Even little things in my life are becoming organized, I have started to plan my meals for the week ahead of time and I think it will help me not stand there in my kitchen and wonder what I'm going to do. I may also get one of those meal boxes delivered, I just want to know if it's worth it, so let me know in the comments below if you have ever tried them! One of my goals IS to blog and post and generally let my passion become a big part of my life, as well as keeping my personal life balanced and organized too. It will be an adjustment but I am excited to see myself change ans progress and really just be the best version of myself. (Lame, I know) 


SELF CARE
When you have a baby, or at least in my experience, I have stopped taking care of myself in the way that I used to. Isla is my main responsibility, 24/7 and it's extremely hard for me to switch off. So I haven't been taking care of myself both inside and out. I need to learn a balance and to understand that once Isla is asleep, she good and I am allowed to relax and colour or blog or have a bath. Giving myself a facial or having a quiet night to myself has disappeared from my life and realistically there is no reason for that. So 2018 is about helping myself remove the stress, to stop worrying and to take that time for myself. 


Eating healthy is also a big thing for me and generally taking care of myelf. I have been taking vitamins daily and iron supplements, eating salads and having smoothies. Follow me on Instagram for annoying photos of my food. ;) BUT I am not trying to lose weigh or anything like that, I just want to know that I am putting good food into my body. And hopefully having my meals prepped and organized will help me with that. If you have any healthy recipes, let me know!


HAPPY ME AND HAPPY BABIES!
You may be thinking... babies? Plural? That's right! I've kept it very hush hush but I am actually expecting again. These tiny humans will be 11 months apart and it is crazy and I am aware. :P one of my main reasons for getting my finances in order is for me to be able to give my children what they deserve and luckily I have already made a huge stride and have been able to get the things I want and need for them. It's very exciting. My goal for them is to purchase the City Select Double Stroller, because it is so amazing. My logic will always be to give my children EVERYTHING and I can get what I want when I have the ability to do so. 


In August, I made a Facebook group for my local area that is a group of women who had babies in June and July or 2017. It's been such a wonderful experience and I am so glad I am so glad that I took the time to make it and make friends. With this group, we have activities and walks and play dates. It has been so wonderful for both Isla and myself to be able to interact and make new friends and get out of the house! Which can be really hard with a baby. 


MAKING A HOUSE A HOME
On February 1st, I get the keys to my new house and I am excited. It's a big step in my life and I am so excited to move from an apartment/flat to a house with a garden and a basement. I will be documenting the process of decorating the house and will be adding more interior design into my blog so I hope you guys would be interested in seeing that kind of thing.
