Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mask & Deep Clean Clay Mask

Hello and welcome back!

If you don’t know, I am part of Influenster Canada’s program to receive, review and share products. If you aren’t part of your country's Influenster campaign, I recommend you check it out! It’s amazing and you get the chance to try new and interesting products, 100% for free.  Through this program I have received the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Sheet Mask and the Neutrogena Deep Clean Clay Purifying Mask And Cleanser. So I wanted to share my thoughts and feelings about them with you! So let’s go!

Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Clay Mask/ Cleanser.

In this little tube, for just under 10$, you get 4.2oz if skincare goodness. Although it is a small package, withthis product, a little bit goes a long way. Unlike most clay masks because the formula is thin but not liquidy. I’ve found that most Clay masks can be thick and tough to work with but I don’t find that with this product. The first time I used it, I ended up dispensing more than I needed because I was expecting it to be thick and difficult but it wasn’t at all, you really do not need a lot.

One thing I liked was that it was cooling on the skin when applied, it caused a light tingle but not in a way that is uncomfortable or concerning. Just gives you the feeling that it is working. Doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, doesn’t make me feel like I can’t move my face/ have Botox. Some can be really restricting but this isn’t at all. When it comes to smell, the scent is almost a mint smell. The product is lightly scented and smells fresh and light without being intense or over bearing.

I am such a sucker for clay masks, and I’m really impressed by the light weight formula and soft texture of this product. When using it as either a cleanser or a mask, it gives your soft and supple skin that feel fresh and new without feeling weighed down by heavy products. With a subtle smell and a cooling feeling, it is a great way to sit back and relax and care for your skin at the same time. I look forward to purchasing this again. Like I said before, a little big goes a long way. So even though it is a smaller tube, it does last a long time and for roughly 10$, it’s definitely worth it.

Neutrogena Hydroboost Hydrating Hydrogel Mask

I will start this section by saying that I’ve never really been one to use sheet masks unless they’re given to me or sent to me. I don’t know why but I’ve never gravitated towards them by choice so I was interested to try this and see what it’s like! For under 5$, you get one mask. Which is a pretty typical price for a drug store product.

When you open it comes in two pieces; one for the jaw and one for the nose up. Which at first, didn’t make any sense to me but once I thought about it, I realized that everyone has a different sized face so they can accommodate, which is pretty cool. But sadly, I have a tiny face so it was still too big but I made it fit as best as I could.

One of the things that bothered me is that the product is very wet and slippery when you take it out of the packet. I actually almost dropped it a few times because it slipped out of my hands so easily. I’m not sure what the mask itself is made of but the best way for me to explain it is that it feels like a condom but thicker, weirdly. I have nothing else to compare it to!

The mask itself a smooth side and a textured side that I’m assuming is the side that you put on your face in order to allow it to grip. Even with the grip, I found that it still slid off my face so I would recommend that you sit down/ lay down to enjoy this, otherwise you may lose it. As a busy mum, I need to be able to walk around with a mask on because I don’t often get time to sit down and relax.

This mask has flaps for mouth and eyes which I don’t understand. Seems like a waste of the material because I personally don’t think anyone would use them but it may be that I don’t know the sheet mask rules. But to me, just leave them out.

So I left the mask on for 10-15 minutes as the  you take it off, says to rub the extra product in to the face and neck. The product itself feels like a very siliconey formula, similar to a thick serum. After rubbing the excess product into my skin, my skin does feel hydrated but also feels tacky to touch. But not uncomfortably so. It would be a good base for a full face of makeup.

Although I like this mask, for me and my lifestyle, it is just a little impractical for me. I did feel my skin felt moisturizer and hydrated, but I didn’t love how tacky my skin felt afterwards, although it wasn’t unbearable. On the Neutrogena website, they are only 2.99$ in the states, so it’s a bargain! If you are a lover of sheet masks, it’s worth a shot!
